Rochester Downtown Development Corporation (RDDC) is a private, not-for-profit, economic development entity that is funded by corporations, institutions, and real estate companies. To create the synergy and balance that is part of a healthy downtown, the RDDC agenda nurtures a broad range of development initiatives including housing, commercial, entertainment, and large public projects. RDDC’s primary role is to deliver a vibrant and economically strong downtown as part of the region’s larger asset package.
Downtown Special Services Inc. (DSSI) is not-for-profit corporation that is funded through an assessment district that includes 350 downtown properties located within the Inner Loop, High Falls, Kodak Office and Frontier Field areas. DSSI provides safety services through its “Red Shirts” team, which helps keep downtown safe and accessible for downtown workers, residents, visitors and students. DSSI also provides information services at the Downtown Information Center, where a team of Information Specialists provides in-person, over-the-phone, and online information and support to downtown visitors and others.
